@jlharsh Thanks for your response. I had a good initial workup and I think I have a great picture of my status. I have a high CAC score, high lp(a) and a family history of premature heart disease. My high CAC wouldn't seem to be an obvious result of my lifestyle. (In fact, my PCP never really mentioned statins or additional testing despite the family history because everything looked good.)
My concerns are about long-term management. I guess it's not helpful to go into details. What I'm looking for is someone that is more proactive regarding monitoring those factors that are known to increase risk and someone that believes in shared decision making. I'm wary given how bad my situation seemed to get despite getting my yearly checkups. I feel like I need to understand the decisions that are being made (if only for my mental health) and I think there are things that can be done to avoid an MI or intervention that aren't. I'm not getting those things in my current situation.
