@heyjoe415 your post was helpful since the words sound the same and are easy to confuse (not you, I realize you just misread). There are many medications that will help osteoporosis. If severe our doctors tend to prescribe Forteo or Tymlos (work through the parathyroids) or, increasingly, Evenity (inhibits sclerostin). Of course exercise, diet and supplements support that treatment.

@joelaurie1 I hope you have an endocrinologist who can prescribe for you!

Windy, i do, and he has been a lifesaver.
Currently on Evenity ( 7th shot), and will have a C. T scan on November 22nd to check if my bone density has improved..

I was an eight-mile-per-day walker and runner for thirty years, being unaware that I have one leg shorter than the other, and when severe problems began, was told that I have a leg length discrepancy and the LAST thing I should have been doing was ambulatory exercise. I lived for it. The endorphin rush made me happier than the disco dancing of the seventies. To my horror, I had severe hip pain one day, and after many consultations, learned that I have spinal arthritis, scoliosis and stenosis, and the last thing I should have been doing was weight-bearing exercise and was told to lie down! All the time. As in no weight bearing. I spend my life in bed reading, watching tv or being online. I made the rounds of spine surgeons , both in South Jersey and Phila. I considered going to New York when they all agreed that there is no spinal remedy and to just avoid any weight bearing. You never know what life is going to hand you. When you think you are doing excellent things for your body, it can be the opposite. It sucks

Hang in there dear! I have the same problem. I lost my by from cubic I portal decompression and from closed reduction of fracture in my ankle, years ago. I did not exercise or did weight bearing all thru my life, because of short leg syndrome.
Now, I am facing stenosis in my back w scoliosis. I just live in pain 24/7. Do not know, what else to do. Afraid to go thru surgery on my back.
I will pray for you.

Hello, I suggest you investigate and consider the Hospital for Special Surgery. Their main hospital is in New York, but have locations in other nearby states. They are highly ranked in orthopedics and known for treating complex spines and Scoliosis.
Best Wishes!
