Evenity Shots

Posted by solnana1 @solnana1, Feb 18 7:38am

I have been getting evenity shots for 10 months. Just had a bone scan and there was NO change. The Dr. Wants me to finish these shots and then choose another form of shots.

Has anyone else experienced these same results? What did you then do? And did it actually help build bone mass?

I also am concerned why my Dr. Would not recommend I take calcium, vitamin D and vitamin k after reading others comments.

Any suggestions experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks everyone.

Just to make sure, you are going to an endocrinologist, Yes?
The reason I ask is that, many women can have conditions, diseases, prior drug use etc. that may play a role in osteoporosis and would keep an osteoporosis drug from working. The endocrinologist knows all the tests to run and can look at your medical record to see anything that might be slowing down or stopping your bone growth.

Still the literature and evenity research seems to stress 12 months as the time within which bone growth will be seen. So maybe you just need some more time.

You might check with your doctor but my impression is that the best results stem from a variety of approaches. For example, exercise, diet, selected supplements, adequate sleep as well as OP meds.

Yes, well said, building bone is a synergistic action and has lots of moving parts.

@mjwg Have you had an opportunity to ask the doctor why he thinks Evenity failed to improve your DEXA scan? I would really want to know that before moving forward with another OP medication. If he cannot address that question, I'd pursue a second opinion...

No, i spoke with a NP but cannot see the Dr until December 🫤

I am only 2 months in on Evenity. The aches & pains in every joint are difficult. My rheumatologist insists its the best drug for me. I hope it pays off. I also have Sjogrens.
