Hello @vanaly and welcome to Connect. You have a good question and perhaps someone here has had this done. Could you explain why your throat was rebuilt in the first place?

3 ReactionsI had my esophagus stretched after 10 or more years following radiation treatment for cancer. I felt it was safe but positive results were minimal if at all. In June of 2024 I had a G-tube surgically inserted and was weaned off from eating anything through the mouth. I still drink a little bit of coffee in the morning and have an occasional vodka over ice in the evening. The G-tube has improved my quality of life by providing a balanced diet and I don't have to worry so much about aspiration pneumonia.

2 ReactionsMay I ask what the "rebuilt" throat reconstruction is called? What was the Procedure called? I was suggested to do this, and I was so thrown off I didn't catch the procedure name. I do dialations all the time with no help 🙁 for the stenosis.
@sarhay83 welcome to our head and neck group. You pose a good question as I too should learn what throat reconstruction is called in medical terms. It may vary depending upon what particular part of the throat needs attention.
Someone might have an idea if they are following this discussion. If not, you could again ask the question in your own discussion in the head and neck group. It gets more attention that way from the many fine people who follow this group. You are always welcome.
Are you having throat issues?

1 Reaction@sarhay83, I think you might be referring to laryngotracheal reconstruction. Does this info from Mayo Clinic sound like what you were discussing with your team?
