L5 S1 crushed. Could I get total relief?
This is the results of my xrays- (standing )
Imaging:
Standing in spine AP pelvis and frog lateral both hips: The hips are normal. Joint spaces well-preserved. There are no osteophytes and no intraosseous lesions. No lesions are seen in the pelvis.
LS-spine: Lateral films shows obliteration of the posterior foramina at L5-S1 with primary degenerative disc disease at the same level.
i am a very active person , i am so scared of surgery. Is there any one out there that has this same condition? and if so what has helped any total relief ? I go to the gym 4 days a week . Doing a lot of exercises for my TA muscles and lower core. But i have nerve pain in the buttocks and hip flexors from this, and my right leg is cold all the way to my feet .

Imj7107, you want to be careful with the exercises avoid any involving extension. The nerve pain and coldness may be telling you that you are not giving the injury time to heal and may be damaging the exiting nerves. With rest and ice a disc injury can resolve. If you have herniated the disc you may be causing the core, the nucleus pulposus, to leak irretrievably.
From the report we don't know what is obliterating the path of the nerves. I'm only suspecting the disc.
An MRI would tell you. And Physical Therapy might be more helpful to you than the gym in the next few weeks.
This isn't one of those power through the pain situations. You are in for it for a while. At some later point a steroid injection might lower the inflammation, but now you need it for healing.
You seem to be in excellent condition, otherwise.

I should do exercises for it but I don’t. I take Norco for chronic back pain. I’d like to get off of it but I live alone and I couldn’t do half the things that I do in life, plus I live alone.
If your spinal condition shows obliterated lamina a laminectomy is in order which is not untypical for spine surgery. You must have been suffering for a long time before deciding to look into it? The advice offered by others regarding protecting your nerves is healthy advice. You may be able to get away with minimally invasive procedure and if it’s only one disc count your lucky stars. But at MRI will be needed for certain. If you find a way to avoid surgery and still live an active life do it. Make surgery your last resort. If you go on narco pain meds be very careful.
