@fdixon63, I've been taking Spironolactone 25 mg along with Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg for quite a few years for blood pressure and hypertension but never had a side effect like your husband but it's good to hear he has an appointment with a dermatologist to check it out. Here's some information from Mayo Clinic on Spironolactone side effects if you haven't already done any research - https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/spironolactone-oral-route/description/drg-20071534.

Is your husband taking the drug for high blood pressure or hypertension? Have you discussed the side effects with his doctor?

@johnbishop - The medication was prescribed following a stress test. It seems the heart is not pumping as strong as they would like. He has a history of open heart surgery and now is 73 y/o. Dermatology appt coming soon so will see what they recommend. Yes, he has read the literature and knows this is a potential reaction. We were wondering if anyone had a reaction but it got better and you are able to continue the medication. Thanks for the input.
