I know this is an older message and hope you are well. I have Factor V leiden. Found out after my Father and two uncles had blood clots of various sorts. Since I've yet to have a blood clot, no treatment. I did trace my family heritage back to the Netherlands. Interesting enough that is where the first diagnosis was made. Ive not been test for other genetic condition but I am curious about genetic conditions that pair and that is how I came across this blog.

Yes, Factor V Leiden is a genetic blood clotting disorder, and I hope you can avoid any complications. I take precautions such as avoiding estrogen-based medications and being cautious with certain drugs like NSAIDs. I also stay mindful of foods rich in vitamin K, especially during travel or illness, since changes in diet, activity, or hydration can affect clotting balance.

Foods that naturally support healthy blood flow, including those containing salicylates—such as oranges, cherries, and grapes—are generally safe when consumed as part of a balanced diet. Maintaining consistency in diet, staying well hydrated, and following medical guidance are important for managing Factor V Leiden safely.
