I purchased the Burning Mouth Syndrome Survival Guide on Amazon. Written by a lady who struggles with BMS. Mine started August 2025. I take 1800 mg Gabapentin daily, and 600 mg R-Alpha Lipoic Acid. BMS is not a nerve damage situation, but rather, a MISFIRING OF NERVES IN THE MOUTH. I will be having an appt. with an oral pathologist, who treats BMS, and hopefully he'll order a HI Resolution MRI of the trigeminal roots.....(not the brain). The author of the book, Peggy Sharr, LCSW is a wonderful resource, and she can email you responses to your questions. Good luck to all!

@kinura8 How did the appointment go? I just saw an oral pathologist at a large hospital and all they did was give me a diagnosis and prescribe the usual first-line course of drugs. Didn’t make any attempt to maybe find out why it’s happening. I have a neurologist appointment back at home tomorrow where I am going to push for some imaging. Not one Dr. I have been to in the past five months, and I’ve been to a lot of them, seems interested in finding the cause of it. I find that ridiculous since there are some causes that can be reversed.
