I am sorry to hear about your urinary problems and I fully understand and empathize.

The first step toward an accurate diagnosis would be a visit to your general practitioner who would most likely want to evaluate your general health.

When you explain the difficulties you are experiencing, your doctor can then refer you to a recommended specialist - most likely a urologist. When you consult such a doctor, he/she will send you for appropriate testing to ensure an accurate diagnosis and then for whatever treatment is necessary.

Sending best wishes.

Does not match typical correlation with malignancy. I would visit a urologist ASAP.

@jillygirl1, I agree with @deidre77 and @jaxfl that the symptoms you are experiencing need to be evaluated by a doctor, preferrably a urologist. Urinary incontinence may be something that it easily addressed. I know it is embarassing, but a doctor will understand, investigate further and help you rule out cancer

When you go to your doctor, be as accurate as you can be about how long this has been happening and when.

Have you talked to your doctor about this?

@jillygirl1, it sounds like you have been working with a doctor on the incontinence issue? Has it been a urologist? Some areas of the country also will have a pelvic floor specialist who has experience in various repairs and medications to help, once a diagnosis is achieved. You might have to ask about this as it is not always offered. It certainly doesn't sound like bladder cancer to me, but you need a specialist to determine that with urinalysis, cystoscopy, and CT scan. Pursue a second opinion if you are not getting answers from your current doctors. You are your own best advocate so be vocal and persistent until you are properly diagnosed.

I cannot offer advice, but I can recommend you see your primary and request an abdominal CT with contrast. If the Bladder wall is swollen or thickening, then a Urologist Oncologist should do a Cystectomy and go up into the bladder to look around…this is how they determine if cancer is there. incontinence is a difficult thing…I certainly would consult with a Urologist…for men it’s usually a swollen prostate and Flomax can be incorporated to increase the flow of urine and shrink the prostate chocking the urethras

Please, please, please see a urologist if you haven’t already😊. My only symptom of muscle invasive bladder cancer was sudden increased frequency. I started waking up once a night, not at all unusual for someone my age. 2 months later I had blood in my urine and was tested for uti at an urgent care. When I tested negative they told me to finish the antibiotics anyway! Thank goodness I made an appointment with the first urologist I could find. He did a scope and found my problem immediately.
