Anyone with Long Covid, POTs, CFS have a Colonoscopy?
I just had a Positive Cologuard test so I know I am facing a Colonoscopy. Has anyone undergone a Colonoscopy while having these conditions? What was your experience? Any advice?

Dx’s: POTs, CFS, POHypotension - among a list of other persistent symptoms.
I had a colonoscopy last year, 2025, with no issues. My opinion, I would not hesitate following up on a positive Cologuard result.
Blessings to you.

Thank you. Yes, to the whole laundry list of symptoms..I hear you.
Main concern was will the prep cause dehydration and worsen POTS symptoms?
I had my third colonoscopy (family history) in November. The experience was largely similar to earlier ones when healthy, with these exceptions: There is a list of medications and supplements that must be stopped for a certain number of days before the procedure. If these are ones that make you feel better, this is an issue. The all liquid diet during “Evacuation day” Is contrary to the otherwise high fiber, Anti-inflammatory diet I was on. Also, I found the “evacuation“ procedure to be extremely tiring. I suggest paying extra for the formula that requires less preparation liquid.
Despite this, let me encourage you to get the procedure As soon as you can anyway. Early identification can keep a moderate issue from becoming a life-threatening one. Colonoscopies can also address growths before they become cancerous, so it is also preventative

1 ReactionI just had(last week)a colonoscopy and endoscopy.Colon...fine...stomach..10mm polyp.THIS was causing my severe stomach pain for 5 years since covid.Wasn't there before.I'm completely pain free...I mean,my whole system seems it's just reset..Gained 2 lbs this last week. And it's holding.IF you have severe stomach pain that is virtually 24/7,please consider an endoscopy. This is like two different worlds honestly.I don't feel ANY symptoms now from long covid.Just a heads up..And God richly Bless us all.

I've had a couple colonoscopies over the years and the only thing worse this time was I rushed drinking that delicious cocktail prep on the second day. Completely evacuated from both ends. About as dehydrated as it goes. But I don't remember my symptoms worsening because of the procedure.

1 ReactionFYI ...I just had a Colonoscopy, 1st in 60 years of age. What i can tell you is that , the Prep 2 Days prior to your Scheduled Appointment Date is the "Worst " thing I have experienced. You Better be ready to spend a whole lot of time in the Restroom, and don't take anything for granted if you feel a Bowl Movement coming on. Head to your Safe Place while dropping your Trowsers !! Lol , I'm 100% Serious 😲 Best of Luck with the Results

Thank you so much! I will definitely be asking about the different preps as I am 120lbs and also about starting earlier to hopefully make it easier on me with my POTS/CFS. Thanks so much ❤️
@rodneyharding That’s what’s suppose to happen. Your colon must be clear so the gastroenterologist can get a clear look to see if you have any polyps or tumors. I recently had 18” of my colon removed due to severe diverticulitis. You don’t want this…!
@debbiedsf There is only 1 prep that I know of in the Chicagoland area and it’s the gallon of stuff that you have to drink! I will do it with pleasure, as I had 18” of my colon removed due to severe diverticulitis from eating the wrong foods my entire life! I’m now back on track with healthy foods for my body and besides having Long Covid, my colon is just fine.
