@zenren14 How long ago was your treatment? Just curious. I know everyone is different in their recovery from this. I tube feed him 3/times a day with Nutren as per his nutritionist. Even with that he has lost weight. He struggles with trying to eat soft foods. Thanks for responding. It helps to hear from others

@sharooni You don't have to just use the formula recommended by the nutritionist. My understanding is you can add additional calories beyond the formula. Maybe ask them what you can add. I was able to maintain my weight with the formula. Swallowing is more challenging for some of us. I learned the chin tuck and that worked great for me. I made tapioca pudding in my crockpot (Pinterest) and that was one of my first happy foods. Warm foods and drinks worked better for me ...still do 2 years out.

@sharooni Yes. My husband received the same chemoradiation treatment plan as yours which he finished in May 2025.
The side effects of treatment have been a daily challenge. Our care team at the James Cancer Center in Columbus has been incredible. I have learned so much from them. I’m not sure how long it has been since your husband completed treatment? Recovery is very, very slow.
