Scoliosis - Introduce yourself and meet others
Let's talk about living with scoliosis.
As a community moderator of the Bones, Joints & Muscles and Spine Health groups, I've noticed several members talking about scoliosis, but those discussions were scattered throughout the community. I thought I would start this discussion to bring us all together in one place.
Get comfortable in your favorite spot, grab a beverage of your choice, and let's chat. Why not start by introducing yourself?

Hi all,
Thank you for this respectful debate about spirituality and its place (or not) in Connect conversations. Conversations on Connect are primarily about sharing health experiences to help inform and support fellow members in their pursuit of understanding their situation, getting good medical care, making informed health decisions and, where appropriate, changing poor health behaviors. For some, spirituality is intrinsically a part of health and, as such, mention of religion is not banned on Connect. However, discussion about spirituality should not dominate a discussion about a medical issue.
Therefore, I commend the group for returning to the topic of scoliosis. Thank you.
For those of you who would like to continue to talk about faith as it applies to your health, I invite you to start a new discussion specifically on that topic, such as one member did here:
- How Spirituality Can Help Stress https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/how-spirituality-can-help-stress/
Feel free to join that discussion or start a new one.

Connie, I wanted to tell you, I will be off the couple for 4-6 months, due to house repairs from the strom and medical reasons- I will be back and I really enjoy talking with all the folks. Thank you so much- John South
Are you saying that it would have been better if the issue of going off in another direction such as religion or politics etc. should have been reported rather than posting this? Marield65
I,Marield65, agree. I,have too much pain at times to think about anything else. Let's get healthy and positive about doing what is medically beneficial.
I was just looking at the internet for adult (vs, childhood) exercises for Scoliosis. One site mentioned a yoga pose to even
correct .....?!?!?!?....... scoliosis, but I could not find any details. Anyone have such info . @gailfaith
I'm not coordinated enough to do yoga but I did a quick search and found a YouTube video for adults with scoliosis that may be helpful. This one is short but there are a couple others that are longer.
Hi @gailfaith, this YouTube video may be better. It's 20 minutes. If you stop it, or after it plays it will show you a list of more yoga exercises for scoliosis.
@johnbishop Thanks. I started to reply to this, but once at the bottom of this "reply" space, when suddenly your and other names appear, it appears you can no longer add anything to your reply. Is there a way to avoid that.? I lost when I had written to you. It seems you can still type, but you can no longer see what you are writing.
I've had similar things happen where I've lost what I was in the process of posting. I was thinking it had something to do with the web browser program I'm using which is Google Chrome on a desktop computer. I'm not sure though. Was it when you started typing a name and a name with the Connect username (@username) was showing inside the reply box but covering the bottom two lines so you couldn't see what was happening?
Yes. Exactly. I am using Google may be Chrome (????) also on a desktop. This is a new problem. But it was NOT when I was typing a name.......just part of my reply.
