Hi Nancy, @shortshot80
I'm so glad that everything went smoothly for you on Monday. I appreciate your keeping us posted.
Will you let us know when you begin the new chemo treatments?
Teresa
Hi Teresa, Yes I will keep everyone posted. I like this site and I'm not afraid to talk. It helps me to voice my concerns. Nancy
Hi Nancy,
You might wish to revisit the discussion called "Insomnia and Cancer" https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/insomnia-29e169/ You had some pretty good advice for Lacey back in November last year! Check it out. Maybe your own advice would help you today. 🙂
(shortshot80) Hi everyone, I had my port installed last Monday. Was in the hospital just about one hour. Doing okay with it. I also met with my new primary doc. Very nice and he is close. I have not heard from my Cancer doc is waiting for test results to see what kind of chemo that is good for me. I am not a person who likes to wait for anything. I like almost "instant" but wheels turn slowly sometimes. Nancy
@shortshot80 Hi Nancy:
I'm sure you are ready for the next step! I hope you are feeling some improvement in your breathing.

(shortshot80) I found something else to help me sleep better. For ever I have had cold feet. Rice bag= microwave etc. Hey I bought a electric blanket, put it on the bed sheet, quit over the electric blanket.. WaLa......I'm warm all night. Best $60.00 I've spent in a long time..Still haven't heard from my cancer doc yet on the results of the test. Hope she gets it soon. Nancy. PS had a wonderful day for out anniversary....Great dinner out! Will have another dinner out on Friday. Bob's 90th birday..Kids buying him/us dinner. Nancy
Hi Nancy @shortshot80
What a great celebration and another one yet to come! I'm so glad that you had a nice dinner out. Thanks for sharing about your solution to cold feet - there are many of us who suffer from that - I always wear socks to bed and sometimes still need a heating pad!
Wonder if it's true - that cold hands or feet reflect a warm heart?
Teresa
I always wear socks to bed. Both feet have neuorphothy (sP) in my feet. They seem to be cold most of the time, and sometimes I get to sleep, but the cold feet wakes me. So far the electric blanket has kept me warm. I have a queen bed, I bought a "full" blanket. I put the quilt on top of my electric blanket. I didn't want the electric one to go over the sides of the bed. Anyway it's working so far for me. My husband sleeps in a recliner. Although I share my bed with my little pure bred chau(dog) Can't spell today. Must have got up too early (5am) today. Came out and got a cup of coffee, fell back asleep in my chair. Hmmm no wonder I'm tired. Although I went to church today. Only a block away, not able to walk it like I used to, I run out of air. (Not good) Nancy
shortshot80) Hi everyhone, I had my port installed on Monday. Hour 1/2 ride to the hospital. Arrived at 6:15 Was escorted into my room to get ready for surgery. It was just a little short of a hour and I had my port. They glued it in. Now still waiting for the cancer doc to get the results of the last test of the tissue that was taken in the surgery of my lung in2016. Also on last Monday I met and visited with my new pdrimary doc. Very nice visit. I guess mainly my cancer doc will be my doc probably for the rest of my live. Still having some sleep problems. I seem to wake up at 2 am, not able to go back to sleep. Working on the answer for night . Will keep you posted. Nancy
