My blood pressure has begun to shoot up high and then go down low and now my EGFR number has dropped from 45 to 32 is it because of the high blood pressure the numbers drop?

@jcreel09 There are many reasons that your EGFR or other numbers will drop. That is why to have a physician who listens and will explain things is so important. Worry is not a good place, being knowledgeable about our bodies is.
Give your doctor a call or bring your questions at your next visit. As a side note my own Egfr numbers have varied from 30 to 51 over the past 5 years. Blessings.

Have you ever noticed that any time one part of the body is hurt or sick it is hard to focus on anything else? I think that is because the rest of the members are trying to support the ailing part. The kidneys have a big part to play in keeping the whole body healthy. @jezzad have you found treatment for your pancreatitis? @jecree109 did you know that high blood pressure is a common cause of kidney problems? @dougr19 is correct. Make sure to bring these problems to your provider’s attention. I have CKD stage 3. I have seen my eGFR bounce between 14 - 42. Sometimes these numbers are a “one off”. It is the overall trend over time that is more important. Again, tell your provider your concerns.
