So I have been diagnosed with CISD, SIBO, Erosive Gastritis, and I only have a half of a stomach. On the 18th of Feb. I go to confirm if I have Intercostal Neuralgia. I never heard of this until someone mention this on here. So I mentioned it to my doctor and she said that I could easily have that. With everything going on my doctor referred me to Mayo Clinic but I was denied. They can tell me what is wrong but no answers on why I have all this or how to deal with any of this besides to put me on a CISD and a Fodmap Diet and want me lactose free too, which leaves nothing to eat but meat and eggs at least that is what it feels like. The problem is that the more weight i loose the more my ribs hurt, that goes through to my back, I feel like my left side is bruised all the time and like someone has kicked the crap out of me. Is this normal with intercostal neuralgia? Does anyone have this condition and is there any cure.

@nkoutz - May sound weird, but I was glad to read your post this morning. I have had the same feeling, however, not as bad as you seem to have it. I had my VATS lung surgery, left side, back in March of 2023, and I still have a bit of the nerve pain that you describe. I just didn’t have a name for it. I looked it up after I read your post and it described exactly where I had my aches and pains and even had a diagram! Mine is more of an annoyance than severe pain. My bra band sits right on top of where it runs. I thought my bras were too tight and have been through probably 10 different kinds. Guess it’s not the bras! If it gets real bad, I take a couple ibuprofen and I’m good. My surgeon did say that I could wear a pain patch on the area, but those are just as annoying as they roll and bunch or don’t stick well. So when I’m at home I just wear real loose tops like big sweatshirts, and doesn’t bother me as much. I did also get a hiatal hernia afterward which causes acid reflux. I just started drinking the Metamucil fiber drink in the mornings which also helps with the digestion and acid. Changed my diet to more fruits, veggies and salads along with more salmon, chicken and lean meats. That helps with the bloating and feeling like my meal is just sitting at the very top of my stomach.I haven’t found anything that makes it totally go away, but also easy stretches and shoulder blade scrunches seem to help. I hope this gives you some info. I hope you find something that helps!🙏🙏. Cindy
@nkoutz there is milk, yogurt, cottage cheese that I’ve purchased in supermarket that are lactose free. It’s really not that bad. I had SIBO and used the FODMAP app and food plan to over come it. I still use it when I shop for food.
