Where to get treatment in eastern PA?
Has anyone been to Johns Hopkins in Baltimore for endometrial cancer treatment? I've had it all at my local doctor in southern Pennsylvania; hysterectomy, radiation -inside and out, 6 different chemos and immunotherapy, and now feel like they are giving up on me. Any thoughts?

I sent you a private message with a doctor you might consider. I'm in a similar situation: on chemo combo #7. I'm not eligible for most trials because I've had too many lines of treatment. And I've run through all the standard of care treatments that have a decent probability of working. All that's left are crazy phase 1 trials that seem unlikely to work and approved drugs with bad side effects that are also unlikely to work. What I'm taking now is slowing my cancer down and sort of controlling the ascites, but certainly isn't great.

2 ReactionsYes, the ascites is bad, in fact I have an appointment Friday to have it removed. I feel pretty bad today so sorry if I am slow getting back to you. This too shall pass. My brother is taking me and I told him I might squeeze his hand darn hard. There is a Penn Medicine hospital in Lancaster PA so I will check that out. You hang in there and so will I.

I haven't been a fan of Penn Medicine in Philadelphia generally. I had all my initial treatment there and felt like my doctor thought that talking to me was a waste of his precious time. He could get through an appointment in 3 minutes, including a pelvic exam. (The NPs were better). And I thought he was a mindless algorithm follower. The doctor I mentioned in my note was very willing to talk to me at length and seemed willing to be more creative.

1 ReactionOk will recheck your note. Thanks. I was at Dana Farber for a second opinion last year and they sent me to their hospital for a week. They recommended Enhertu and it worked great for a little over a year, then it didn't. I want a major cancer center and then I could still use my local doctor. DF was great.

1 ReactionHi..I too have uterine cancer, first diagnosed in April of 2021. stage 1A no spread....after complete hysterectomy, 3 sessions of brachytherapy ...recurrence in October of 2022, 6 rounds of chemo/herceptin my cancer is HER2+....NED ...May 2025 started Enhertu because CA 125 was trending upwards and PET scan showed 2 very tiny lymph nodes probably cancer brewing...after one treatment with enhertu CA 125 went from 77 to 35 and has been at 15 since June...scans show NED...I'm curious about your experience with Enhertu....what kind of Uterine cancer do you have....mine is USC Uterine Serous Carcinoma ....rare and aggressive...not curable..but treatable...of course I'm hoping that Enhertu will keep it at bay forever.....I'm told that there are other treatments available if Enhertu stops working ?? I am being treated at MSK in Bergen NJ...

2 ReactionsHi, I live in York PA and had the best oncologist at Wellspan. His name was DR. Lim. I am unable to see my wellspan DRS. Because of my insurance but I loved his whole team. He is a great listener and not against trying new things.
