Husband having lots of stiffness 5 yrs after TKR. They suggested doing another TKR on the same knee. It’s a very intensive surgery since they chisel out the cement and parts. Has anyone had his done?

@fwintracy My first TKR was end of 2018. I was doing extremely well until surgeon decided to do a manipulation. Loosening and pain after this.

If you were doing well, why did he do a MUA?

I just had my replacement only 13 months after my original TKR. It was the best thing I ever did!

I was referred to a different clinic’s orthopedic surgeon by my GP because she didn’t believe I should have to live like I was (-20 Extension and 85 bend).

My surgeon was new to the clinic but had just finished his Fellowship specializing in hip & knee revisions. He was fantastic and at 14 weeks I am at full extension and have a 115 degree bend. I also have very little pain!

I hope your husband has as much success as I did if he elects to have the revision.
