Shingles is there any help?

Going on 3 months of Shingles on the lower torso, hip and upper left leg area. Rash left long ago, not so the very sensitive, burning tender pain. Standing or walking for long periods of time excruciating! Been taking 300mg Gabapentin the last 6 weeks, 100mg earlier. It doesn't seem to help much. The rawness of the pain, although somewhat less, is ongoing.
Would love to hear a success story! I am significantly incapacitated!

It sounds like you are suffering from post herpetic neuralgia, pain from nerves damaged by the shingles virus. Gabapentin is the usual prescription for this, and I'm surprised it's not offering relief. Talk with your doctor about possible alternatives.
