Has anyone done well after doing the Reclast Infusion? I am due to do this before the end of April 2025 Kind of scared with hearing all bad side effects and need to hear good news with Reclast?

I had it done on Wednesday January 14th and will NEVER get it again. That night, I got so much pain in my thighs that I couldn't even walk. And my jawline also was hurting I cudnt eat solid foods. I still feel very bad. Decided to try and walk with a walker. If I had known all the severe side effects, I would not have got it. Also, I couldn't sleep in about 4 nights, very uncomfortable.

I’ve had my 1st infusion in January 2025 without any noticeable side effects ( fever, pain, etc).

I would have it again, it’s much easier than taking Fosamax.

I had infusion December 23,2025. I insisted on extra IV hydration after infusion. I started having aching in my right thigh when I left and about 30 minutes later my right knee was stiff and a little more achey. When I woke up on 12/24 I had pretty icky pain in lumbar spine. By 0800 I could not walk without pretty bad pain. Right flank, all the way up my back and ribs. That lasted about 5 days and then joint pain. Week later severe right ankle pain and swelling. Gained 6 pounds. I’m 29 days post and finally feeling normal. Another big thing for me was fatigue. Had a little fever and chills first week. I’d say it really messed w my quality of life about 10 days. After that, just annoying. I’m thankful only once a year. My plan is weight bearing exercise, calcium 500mg three times per day and hope I make forward progress.

I had first reclast Infusion 12-31-2025. I was very anxious and concerned about side effects. I was warned about flu like symptoms etc. Happily I had minimal issues and so far I am really good. Fosamax caused duodenal ulcers and muscle aches.

@jacklin I am 71 and I am concerned about your reasons for falling. I was having balance issues and resolved those before Reclast. Please correct me if I misunderstand. But it seems that you would not be breaking bones if you did not fall.

@carolynk Hi Carolyn, yes I have fallen once in my home, the other 2 times tripped in my yard, 3 hospitalizations in 2 years for broken ribs.
So in my opinion Reclast was a waste of time and energy. 😢
