lamellar macular holeS

I have a lamellar hole in both eyes- one worse than the other. The cause was a vitreous detachment. I was very worried as my vision was definitely worsening and I had wavy vision. I needed to close the worse eye to read with just the eye with the better vision. I was monitored by a retinal specialist every 6 months. He mentioned surgery when I asked and what it entailed. He did not feel I was at a point that I needed it or that it was guaranteed to help. I am happy to say that my vision has improved over my last two visits and he has decreased my checks to yearly. I no longer have to close my R eye to read. Wishing you the best.

@jtrehub thank you so much for your reply. I am so pleased for you. I think I also have vitreous detachment. (Ophthalmologist was vague. ) I hope retinal specialist will give me good news too.
