@sfe431 I see my endocrinologist in about 3 weeks. I'm very interested in what he prescribes to offset the ultimate onset of osteoporosis coming my way. I have good DEXA and FRAX scores but then again I had a triple fracture of my pelvis in early 2024, (slip off a ladder where the step was only 12 inches off the ground) a fractured vertebrae sometime in my much younger years, a left hip replacement in 2016, and an untreated right hip that is bone on bone that they will not operate on since it gives me no pain. I'm a 78-year-old male, 5'10" and 175 lbs. Former height was 6 foot tall. I'm currently recovering from left knee arthroscopic surgery performed in April 2025. That recovery is going very slowly. For supplements, I'm thinking the endocrinologist should show some interest in me taking some special type of calcium, strontium, D-3, boron, selenium. maybe more. I'm sure I have some osteoporosis in my back as well, as I have 3 or 4 bulging disks, two pairs of vertebrae bone on bone, and slight scoliosis right side. That's a sad story.

I am 80. I fractured two pelvic bones and one sacrum bone summer of 2025. I didn't fall but I was hiking and probably overdid it. I am seeing a phy therapist now. She is setting me up with an exercise program intended to strengthen my core muscles to protect my bones and help prevent more fractures. For various reasons, I cannot take any of the osteo meds (six of them). I am moving soon and will try to see an endo doctor once I get settled.

My husband had two knee replacements so I know of the recovery process with that. I hope something can help you. It sounds like you've had more than your share of problems.

Thanks for sharing since it helps to hear of what others are doing to try to get along as best as possible.
