One of the things I was encouraged to do when trying to locate an endo was to specifically ask how many osteoporosis patients they have worked with. Also, ask them if they prescribe HRT. I have heard many do not and mine does not. My obgyn did a work up on me and agreed to start me on HRT then I went back to my endo to ask her if she would take over managing the HRT and she said she would not because she doesn’t prescribe them. She said it would definitely help me with bone metabolism, however, she did not have suggestions about what my target hormone level ranges should be for bone either.

Hi Susan. How old are you ? Have you or any immediate family members had cancer ? For high risk patients such as those there is another option-Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators . I know little about it, but will be seeing an endo next week and will be a discussion topic. I hope to be very prepared with a list if time is of the essence which is so common at a physicians office these days. Best of luck to you in your journey to optimal health !
