Stomach bloating/ digestive issues

Posted by lizwhite80 @lizwhite80, Apr 14, 2017

Hi. I have been having severe bloating and stomach pain for over a year now. I have been checked for SIBO and H-pylori. I have had a stomach CT, an ultrasound, endoscopy, colonoscopy, a hida scan, and a bunch of bloodwork done. The bloating and stomach pain are accompanied by exreme fatigue, hot flashes, and severe foot cramping. I was told over a year ago (after choking on food and some serious heartburn) that i have an impaired esophagus. I was placed on Emaprezale. The stomach issues continued to get worse. I was placed on more and more stomach medicine by primary care dr and GI. Nothing has helped. I was 125 lbs and i eat healthy and would work out regularly. I am now 140 lbs. I cannot workout because it causes stomach pain. Plus i am so tired i can barely make it through work. I went to see a naturopath after no success with GI. I was eventually put on an elemental det after other gut healing steps did not work. Even on the liquid diet the bloating continued, but i was not as tired. Eventually i crashed and needed to eat again. I had a food allergy and them avoided everything i wss told not to eat but this did not help. I was told i have gastritis and esophagitis but nothing they have done has helped how i feel. It is getting hard to make it through the day. I need help. I have had previous health issues including uterine fibroids that lead to bad blood hemoraging. I ended up having a hysterectomy . I had brain and spinal cord surgery 20 years ago for syringomyelia. I have had pancreas problems. I was told i had autoimmune problems including juvenile arthritis and sjogrens. Now i test negative for autoimmune problems but have lasting joint damage. I am 36. My rheumatologist told me i have the joints of someone 65 or older. I have been checked for pancreas issues but have no problems anymore. I am taking digestive enzymes but they ate not helping. Sorry for the long rant. Any suggestions???

Well, I just wrapped up an Easter dinner sans gluten, lactose, fruits, & veggies! Go figure! 🙁 Can't say I'm happy about it, but I sure am determined to stay away from anything that MIGHT be the culprit of my inner problems. I will even admit that I didn't overeat! WoW! That's a milestone! Anyway, I don't think I'm going to go thru the digestive tests the Dr. is recommending. I just don't think I can go thru them anymore. I guess it's my body & I have to feel comfortable with what's done to me. Anybody been there - done that?

I never had issues with wright. Then I had a horrible bad poisoned gall bladder. After surgery, my belly is bloated all the time. I have gained nearly 30 lbs. I am a vegetarian and do eat yogurt. I use non dairy for my cereal. I have hard time swallowing. They did test and dilated my esophacust before surgery. I have to go to bathroom and now have bowel issues. What is going on?

What is involved in digestive tests?

I would have to suggest to you that you try to eliminate the yogurt. I even use water for my homemade granola! I've tried lactaide brand dairy, but that still causes problems. The best I can say is the lactaide dairy products helps with the stomach cramps but still leaves digestive issues in the bathroom. I don't think I have troubles as severe as yours & wish I could have better advice. For years after diagnosing myself of being lactose intolerant I was able to consume yogurt, now even that has changed! 🙁 It's a small price to pay to feel better!

Thank you at 66 and counting. I hate giving up yogurt but I will give it a try. It would be worth it.

It's a shame that we are all getting so sick! I can't help thinking it's all the poisons "they" have put in our foods, drinks, environment, water, soil, etc. Yep, they poisoned us for their own profits & now we pay the price. Hope the yogurt ban works. It has helped me.

I have gone Veggie except for seafood. I am going to call the Surgeon and see if he could meet me and explain why this is happening. I never ever had to worry about weight. I know I don't get the exercise I should as I live in Oregon and we have had rain for probably 6 weeks straight. We had one day of sun and I immediately took my dogs for a walk on the beach. I know that I have not gotten around as much lately as my car was hit by a school bus making and illegal left turn in front of my car. Totaled my car. Had I been 5 seconds earlier, I would have had the school bus in my front seat. My legs and body were hurt and it makes for less exercise. But, this weight gain is ridiculous. I just pray it is not something else. Yogurt OUT

I am so sorry. I wish I could say something that would make a difference. My hobby is cooking. Imagine my shock when I learned that I can no longer tolerate many of the foods I cherish. I'm getting over it 'cause I'm tired of being sick. In 2008, we retired & moved up to the upper part of Michigan. We started growing & raising all our own food. I knew the food we were eating wasn't the food mom made 50-60 years ago. So I figured I couldn't go wrong in my own organic farming methods. But the damage was already done. Downstate we lived in a farming area where crops were sprayed, chemicals from the local Ford plants were dumped, jet planes flying overhead every 5 minutes to the airport, cars billowing out pollution, you get the picture. I've always stayed at the same weight as I was in 8th grade. Yeah, I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma & the rest is history. My health is deteriorating, but I am determined to fight back. I try to stay active. I try to eat healthy, knowing that everything I buy from the grocery store is susceptible to who-knows-what. Try to remain positive. Know that we are the first generation who were born and raised in a chemical filled world. Shop at your local farmers market. Visit your local farms. Try other exercise options available to you. Remember, you're doing this for yourself! Keep in touch. I do care.

My 20 year old son has been sufferding witht he bloating, stomach soarness, chest tighrening, acid reflux, and nauseousness. He has had stomach study done, Ultra sound, C.T Scan, and a barrium swallow also. Still he cannot get a diagnoises. We are going to his first appointment at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale in June. He is so discouraged and seems depressed, which is totally understandable. I'm glad I found this way of connecting with people with like symtoms. I think it's really good to talk to others and I will keep encouraging my son to read some po'sts. I
