@dadcue I took liptor from 2000 to 2004. My cholesterol had always ran about 220 to 240. total. my LDL was about 150. I tried diet worked hard played hard nothing ever fixed it. I developed what they said was crohns disease in 2004. My family Dr. said lets try to take away the lipitor. A week later my gut eased and my colon eased up. I had a colonoscopy and everything was gone. My cholesterol had reduced about 20% on lipitor. Once I developed the allergy I have tried everything that ends in a TIN. Immediate reaction. Fast forward to 2022 my cholesterol shot up on the prednisone. went from 230 to 300. I was at Mayo and my rhumy sent me to cardiology. I was 100% block in the left carotid and 70% in the right. I decided to get serious. He recommended Repatha. twice monthly injection and my cholesterol went from 310 to 140. my LDL went from 220 to 80. They wanted me under 70 on LDL so they put me on zetia. That only dropped my LDL to about 72. The problem it increased my PMR fatigue and I was light headed from it. I tried Nexletol but that had side effects. Latest they want me try is welchol. Meantime I had the right carotid cleaned and feel much better. Just had my brain, abdomen , and heart scanned with no blockages. Maybe I have a few more years. The also tested my LPa. That is 140.
