I have been on ADT Orgovyx just for four months and half but my legs are hurting me , especially my knees. My testosterone is gradually coming back. Last time check it was 98. I wonder if there is any medication to take for leg pain or it will disappear as testosterone gradually returns to baseline.. . Prior to Orgovyx , I took a 3-month shot of Eligard, no weight gained no pain on my legs. Is it normal or i am missing something. Please I want to know!

When I started Orgovyx, I had some pretty severe joint pain (knees, hands) for about 5 months or so. It resolved on its own, but I still get a little stiff every now and then. Tylenol + naproxen (one of each) seemed to help on days where it was really annoying.

I don't understand when you say your testosterone is coming back though. If you are still on Orgovyx, your T level should drop and stay there, not come back. My T level has been single digits since November. Started Orgovyx in June 2025 so coming up on 8 months now.

I take 600 mg of gabapentin three times a day. When I’ve tapered off of it a couple of times my legs start to hurt when I get down to about 300 mg. Each time I’ve boosted it back up to 600 mg. I do have osteoarthritis which makes it worse and I’ve had both knees replaced, but if I’m sitting for a while getting up my knee still hurts a little.

Maybe a smaller amount of gabapentin might work for you. Ask your doctor what they think.

If Eligard works, why change to Orgovyx? I take Orgovyx (10 months to date). I have pain and weakness in my knees. I was told Orgovyx is more effective. I have a friend who has taken Eligard for years. He tells me his only side effect is a couple of hot flashes at night. I’d like to quit Orgovyx and try something else.

I had to stop ADT Lupron after 4 months because of very severe headaches, 24 hour a day soaking sweats, frequent urination, and brain fog. If I had not stopped, I believe it would have killed me. These side effects only began to subside after 5 more months. I have absolutely no libido or erections at age 83 but PSA < 0.1 and testosterone < 8. There seems to be a growing consensus that ADT and low testosterone may be doing more harm than good. Studies at Harvard and Duke both indicate that low testosterone may actually make aggressive prostate cancer more aggressive. Also, recent TRT data indicates that restoring testosterone does not increase cancer deaths. It will probably take another decade to sort this out, but my money is on Duke, and their AI based research.

@guerri2024 although each of us are different, the side effects of ADT are cumulative with increased time and exposure. I suspect what you are experiencing is more likely due to the cumulative ADT exposure starting with the time you were on Eligard rather than a result of the change from Eligard to Orgovyx. Still, if you think the Orgovyx is negatively impacting you, there is no reason not to discusss with your doctor switching back to Eligard or Lupron to complete your intended ADT course.
