@nancyra Thanks for the information about anagrelide. The doctor has taken me off of hydroxyurea because of the red blood count and it causing anemia. Always a little afraid of a new medication. I have had some heart palpitations already. I am hoping and praying the stops. Thanks again for your positive comments.
@nancyra This is good to know. Hopefully I’ll have a similar experience. Thanks.
@nancyra
There are heart issues on both sides of my family and l told my doctor no way no how. The HU is effecting my red and white blood cells, hemoglobin etc. I’m going to a specialist that deals with blood issues. If he says the same thing then l am heading to MD Anderson.
There has to be a way to receive a lower dosage then 500mg. I take 3 times a week and if l take more then everything goes down. My platelets are at 714 now. I don’t want to take a drug that causes me to take another drug. 😔 The Anagrelide is a big no. My ticker is not to be played with at all.

@nancyra Hi, I am currently on HU, hoping when I see my new haematologist tomorrow, they put me back on Anagrelide. Was on Anagrelide for over 16 years with no problems. On HU for 1 year, my hair has thinned out badly and i am just so tired all of the time. While on Anagrelide I did not have any side affects. Fingers crossed.
