Masturbation at late age

Posted by newrochelle1131 @newrochelle1131, Feb 27, 2025

Is it normal for men over 70 (without medical prob;ems) to masturbate? How often? Any adverse effects? Are there natural ways to increase the production of seminal fluid?

go to a dermatologist about that spot .. I had a small unexplained spot grew slowly over 6 months or more very small on the glans of the penis. She said she thought she knew what it was but only one way to know for sure. So small needle prick to numb and a little tool took a small sample. It ended up being gentile porosis which I had never heard of. Treated it with cream went away once in a while it crops at the time was the only place on my whole body I had it.

@arctic22 Thanks, arctic22! My suspicious spot was literally on the outer part of my prostate. The radiologist reported it as a PIRAD 3 or 4 to my urologist. That suggested a likely cancer. The urologist did the biopsy - took 18 "cores" to be examined by a pathologist. That specialist is the one who declared it official --- not cancer! My urologist said all along that he was encouraged, having done the job for many years, that I might not have CA. Ironically, at the same annual exam, my doc sent me to a dermatologist for a little spot on my arm which turned out to be squamous cell carcinoma. It was easily treated by a cream. 2025 was a crazy time for me. I am so glad your situation was treated easily. It is great to be informed, isn't it? Have a great New Year, buddy!

Why not. According to everything that I have read there is no maximum or minimum amount and it is not harmful, at least physically speaking.

@chuckiepoo1 Not harmful, at all, but maybe helpful, right? I have read a few scientifically based articles about the positive benefit to be gained from masturbation, including that it may reduce the chances of developing prostate cancer. So..... perhaps it is an example of "use it or lose it" --- I had the scare. I do not want to lose it, so I intend to USE it as long as I am able!!! Happy New Year! Cheers!

I'm 61 and still masturbate. I enjoy the stimulation and ejaculation of my semen. I started when I was 16 years old.

Totally normal to masturbate. Orgasms feel great and have health benefits. Not sure if you can increase semen production, but you should make sure to stay hydrated. Water intake is important. Also, at 71 myself, I have noticed the volume of my ejaculations is less than when I was 20-50 yrs old. Try "edging" some when you masturbate...stop just before you are about to cum, then repeat 2 or 3 times. When I do this and finally release, my orgasm is more intense and my ejaculation is stronger and the amount of semen increases. Hope this helps.

@davem71 I am 74 years old and have been masturbating since about 13 years old, Was plenty of semen. Always enjoyed a good wank but since having 2 or 3 turp surgeries when I climax virtually nothing comes out of my penis. I was told the semen goes into the bladder.
Still enjoying the sensation of course.

@emilioz Yes, indeed! Great memories wanking, and why not? Why ever stop?

@steveapplebaugh I am 74 and still enjoy wanking since 13 years old.
Probably about 3 times a week. My urologist recommended it.
I take tadafil 20 mg to get a good erection.

I'm 69. I had HoLEP surgery 3yrs ago after first having a Urolift and then Laser Green Light. Both failed me. Everything has been great since HoLEP. At first, it was odd that nothing came out after a good wank. I do it daily or close to that. Prior to any of the procedures my urologist prescribed Cialis 5mg dialy for enlarged prostate. I still take it daily. Life is good.

I am 66 years young and I enjoy masturbating a few times a week, or more, without an iota of guilt or any other negative thoughts about it. I am not going to stop until my parts stop working all together. During the scare for about 4 months about the likelihood of early prostate cancer starting with elevated PSA in May, I did some digging for information. Recent ejaculation causes our PSA to rise. I did not know that. I recall doing just that a FEW times the day before my annual exam and labs. My elevated PAS started a whole big mess and scare. Still not stopping; just being educated and mindful. After months of the standard testing (few digitals, more PSAs, MRI and biopsy) and waiting, it turns out I do not have cancer, nor do I have an enlarged prostate. I guess I have a "suspicious spot" there that cannot be explained, except that my urologist compared it to a freckle or skin tag - some ppl have them, some do not. Yay. As to masturbating, I noticed a significant reduction in the related fluids connected with male sexual activity over the years, especially when I reached 60. No changes in libido, arousal or great feelings with ejaculation at all, though. One thing I definitely will not do, and ask you to seriously think about it, is add any supplements to my diet that reportedly enhance the production of semen or libido. Some of those very add-ons will also increase the likelihood of prostate cancer! Be careful! I stay fit with a variety of exercises and very intentional healthy food choices. I think that is the key to enjoying life, including an active sex like (masturbating, included!).
