Has anyone tried ketamine (infusions or nasal spray) for anxiety?
Has anyone tried either of these and did they help? I’m having severe anxiety- I think co-morbid depression as well but I can’t feel it because the anxiety is so severe- and medications have been failing. I’ve been on lexapro for years and it stopped working- tried Zoloft but side effects were too much - and am on remeron 7.5 mg. When I tried to increase to 15, I had horrible insomnia and nausea and couldn’t tolerate so dropped back down and am stuck there now.
Am trying desperately to find some help now- over the holidays my psychiatrist was gone and unable to help and I’ve gone to stay with my mother in North Carolina because I can’t take care of myself anymore and am so debilitated by this anxiety.
If anyone knows of a clinic That’s good in the Raleigh/Durham area, please let me know.
Thanks!

I have an alt non drug for anxiety. My therapist prescribed an Alpha Stim. I use it for anxiety but it can also be used for insomnia and depression.
You can be on meds and use alpha stim.
This was my experience on 7 spaced out (appropriate phrase) of Ketamine. Like being on a moderately fast roller coaster. Saw kaleidoscopic bright light flashes against a dark background. Although sitting stationary, seemed I was turning every which way. No nausea, no headache or dizziness. Also no help whatsoever. Wife drove me home (1/2 hour) by which time I felt pretty stable but lay down anyway for another 1/2 hour. Can’t imagine how this psychedelic-like experience (which I’ve never undergone with any drug or street crap) was supposed to be quickly helpful for anxiety, depression, PTSD, etc. as advertised. Spravato (esketamine) nasal spray also must be given in medical facility. “Special-K” or “Cat Valium” also used by veterinarians. Would love to hear from anyone whom it helped. 🌈
I take Spravato in a clinic every Friday, and it helps. My depression and anxiety are still present, but they’re not as bad as before. I don’t love that I can’t drive or do anything important for the rest of the day after a Spravato treatment, but the treatments are keeping me out of inpatient. I would recommend listening to very chill music during a session if you are able to tolerate it. When I first started, I had to have complete silence, so I would put in earplugs. I always wear an eye mask when I do Spravato because it makes you sensitive to light. Bring water and something like butterscotch candies, as well as a blanket. Spravato can taste bad in the back of your throat. I enjoy the dissociation sometimes, and other times I dislike it, but after every session, I feel like some of my burdens have been lifted for a bit. I hope you can give it a try, and that it helps you!
