Eliquis made me sick as a dog after just 1 dose. The cardiologists said, “that’s impossible”. I stopped taking Eliquis after a week and found a new cardiologist
Joints
Sinus congestion
Thick phlegm
Increased AFIb from once a year Afib to almost daily
ER cardio Adversion 4 hours after the first dose of Eliquis .
Fatigue
Confusion
Dizzy
Horrible life ending thoughts
Major GI problems
I went from being happy and healthy with maybe once a year Afib one day to being in a daze and wanting to die.
But my eye sight got better. I’m using 10 year old glasses now

I’m on a tiny dose of warfarin and Carvedilol for Afib now and feeling great! Started a relaxation routine and lost almost 25lbs since August.
If it feels wrong change

@moski I'm now off Eliquis for about three months now. Every joint hurt. This is now bettering, but my walk is still as if my ankles are made of wood. My knees still hurt, but slightly better. I still have indigestion. No longer have vertigo. It really affected my muscles, which makes sense because it is dissolving clots.. Because it was thought my clots were due to a medication I was on (it was a trial Eliquis was stopped suddenly.the doctor said it would leave my system in three days. Not so. Still have pain but no longer a 10.

@moski I had the same experience. One dose and I could not sleep, had to pee every hour, and had legs too weak to walk (even at home), GI problems galore, dizzy, life ending thoughts, and it took weeks to get a bit back to normal.
After 1 day of taking Eliquis.
I stopped my doses after 24 hours, after taking 5mg Eliquis two times that first 24 hours.
5 weeks later and the pain in my joints and musles is so bad that I can not live like this.
Thankfully, my specialist suggested upping my doses of transdermal bio-identical oestrogen to 4 'pumps' (instead of the 3 pumps) to combat the joint/muscle pain.
And that indeed helps.
I am waiting for the full effect of Eliquis to leave my body.
I really do hope it does not take me months to lose all the effects of Eliquis!
