Seroquel withdrawal ,need some reassurance please
I'm currently on venlafaxine and mirtazapine and about 3 months ago I missed a venlafaxine dose by accident and I paid dearly for it with the withdrawal, I was given seroquel 25mg twice a day, to take the edge off, over a few weeks I ended up at 75mg twice daily and felt I didn't have any effect on me so my doctor and I decided I'd come off it ,I tapered down to 25mg twice daily and within 3 days I notice intrusive thoughts coming in waves with tension headaches, so by day 4/5 I went back to 50mg twice daily to try slow the taper but the damage was done I went into a withdrawal state of anxiety intrusive thoughts and no sleep so had to go back to doctor today just to explain how everything happened and he decided to increase it back to 75mg twice daily again, has anyone had anything similar happen

I have been on seroquel after going off clonazepam. It wasn’t good for me and I went back on to clonazepam. It helps me sleep and stops my intrusive thoughts. I hope you find something helpful that helps you sleep.

1 ReactionYears ago I withdrew from 75mg seroquel (bedtime). I didn't have any problems. Now clonazepam... much harder.
This year I went on 100mg seroquel and it made me feel week (had physical issues to start with). Switched to lithium - again, no problem.
25 days into the seroquel increase to 75mg twice daily and the first few days were ok then a dip like a return of symptoms which lasted about a week then I had nearly a week + of actually feeling well again and just on Christmas night I felt a dip resurfacing which is discouraging but I'm still in this dip now and fingers crossed it will fade out over the next day or so, seemingly this is natural and the fact that I had some normal days of feeling OK is meant to be a positive sign even though while you're in the dip it nearly impossible to think I had good days and visa versa when I'm feeling good I even doubt I had bad days,,,,,hopefully this may help someone out there struggling and as always any input regarding what I'm going through would be greatly appreciated
I’m sorry to hear about difficulties. Is your medication meant to treat schizophrenia or BD?

1 ReactionAnxiety and intrusive thoughts basically meant to take the edge off
OMG!!!!
What the heck are they doing to you with ALL these meds. It is absolutely ridiculous, no? Have you had any heavy metal tests ran on yourself. Most "doctors" never even touch this! Worth looking into?
I pray you can ween off most of them, with the help of God,
to help you feel better.🙏🏼❤️✌🏼

1 ReactionI used to be prescribed a lot of Seroquel, and it made it very difficult for me to get up in the mornings. Sometimes I would sleep all day on the weekend. I worked with my prescriber to slowly taper off of it, and I’m so glad I’m off of Seroquel now. However, your situation is different from mine, and you’ll need to discuss your situation with your prescriber regularly. Sometimes I’ve had to stay on something longer than I’ve wanted to because of the side effects that can happen with tapering off a medication. It’s highly individual, and sometimes now is not the time to come off of something. If you can’t do it now, you might be able to in the future. I encourage you to hold onto hope! If this prescriber isn’t working for you, maybe you can try someone else.
