I don't have pain anymore since I'm very faithful with applying the Aquaphor 1% cream after showering plus doing all the others things I mentioned. I sure hope that you can find some things to work for you. I do see a dermatologist and a gynecologist yearly.

Is there a difference between aquaphor 1% & regular aquaphor??

REPLY

Yes, as Aquaphor 1% is anti itch with Hydrocortisone in it. I use just regular Aquaphor on the anal area as that seems to be affected and dries out. Both are very soothing.

I use Clobetasol once or twice a week
It does clear this up! And the the itch off!

Both are over the counter. I generally buy at Walgreens.

Hi Everyone, I'm age 56 and developed a small spot of Lichen in the past year, so far it hasn't spread, and I do have flare ups related to the food I eat. If I eat processed foods or gluten/wheat, the itching returns. I read this disorder is an autoimmune disorder. Does anyone else notice flare ups related to food eaten? I am currently on a very restrictive food plan with limited whole foods (no processed foods or additives), no coffee, tea, soda, or alcohol, and my itching subsided on its own without any treatment. However the skin discoloration (white, thickened skin) remains

@oaktreegarden2025 - Yesterday my blood pressure dropped (systolic-top number) to 91 and stayed below 110 during the day even with me taking Midodrine twice. Now, about foods causing flare of my vaginal LP. My nurse told me I may be dehydrated so I got my water glass filled up and added Propel. Another member of the family had used it in the past and that's why I had it on hand. My vaginal LP went off the charts. When I peed I'm glad my pastor could not hear the things I said. I looked and the tissue was bright red. I grabbed the box of Propel and the number one ingredient was "citric acid." Yikes. That is something I would have avoided for sure had I known. So many products have citric acid in them as a ??preservative. Knowing and avoiding such things can be so helpful in managing our condition. Thanks for listening.

I use Lisepten, an all natural herbal salve. It's been working wonders for me for many years. You can order directly from the company.
