Shampoo for hair loss
Someone on this loop mentioned a special shampoo and conditioner for hair loss while on anastrozole. Could you mention that again? It was not a common brand. Thank you!

Hair loss is a common problem associated with many diseases/treatments. I searched through old discussions/comments to see if I could find suggestions/references across many groups, including transplants, cancer, and aging.
A few years ago, @loribmt posted a comment with helpful links on hair loss.

A few members have recommended Nioxin shampoo. You can search Nioxin in Connect to see comments:

Not sure if that is the brand you were looking for. Hopefully, other members will respond with recommendations for brands they found helpful.

2 ReactionsHi @marshgirl24 a while back on another thread, I don’t remember which one. We talked about nioxin, I did find that nioxin shampoo helped while I was on anastrozole. I used it weekly, and my other shampoo the other washes because I did find that if I used it every wash, it dried out my hair. I still lost more than my share of hair but at least it didn’t look quite so thin.
Nioxin super cleans the follicle, so I believe that it helped with the medication buildup there. My hairdresser said my hair would make major changes every time I had a major medication change.
I also learned to be careful of how my hair is tied up and how tight, because my hair comes out a lot easier. I gave myself a bald spot. Oops. It did grow back. Haha
Have you tried anything else for the shedding?

1 Reaction@roch Thank you. I think the shampoo I was looking for is Augustinus Bader, but I think I'll try the Nioxcin shampoo too.
@auntieoakley Thanks for mentioning the tight hair. I have also been sweeping mine back. Glad your bald spot grew back!
