@laura1970 Gabapentin has some very undesirable side effects. It is linked to decreased bone density -- already a problem in menopause -- and to unsteady gait. It also causes brain fog. I was prescribed gabapentin for nerve pain and was told for a number of years that it was safe to take indefinitely. It was only after I tapered off of it that my gait improved significantly -- tripping and falling stopped almost altogether -- and my bone density numbers began to improve. Tapering off gabapentin is a serious issue as well. Any drug that you have to sign for at the pharmacy, as if it were a controlled substance, ought to be very carefully weighed against whatever benefit you would hope to get.

1. Risky how?
2. What is your field, that you have patients?
3. I had great experience 11 years on loestrin and would rather stay with a tried and true drug then play with unknowns.
