if it is effective to address pain in feet from peripheral neuropathy. Should I expect to see a drop in levels of B-12 in serum? Should I begin supplementation now of B-12? What is consensus on this?

I've been taking 1200mg a day for over a year, and it has made a difference in my pain. A small difference, but I'll take any help I can get.

A Nurse Practitioner recently suggested the Pure Encapsulations Alpha Lipoic Acid brand. I can't recall whether they come in a larger size or strength. However, I purchased the 600mg with 60 capsules in the bottle. It is expensive, but if it helps to relieve the numbness in my feet, I will be only too happy to spend the money. I've been using it for a few weeks now; hopefully, a difference will be felt soon. Can be purchased via their website: http://www.PureEncapsulations.com. Hope this information is helpful.

@mrmacabre I read somewhere to use the R-Alpha Lipoic Acid because for some reason the R works the best....I have been taking the R-Alpha Lipoic Acid 600 mg daily for Burning Mouth Syndrome, along with Gabapentin.......I purchase R-ALA on Amazon. My pain is much better. Hope this helps you....Check out the R....and see if it helps more.

@slakenkraken Try the R-Alpha Lipoic Acid....Sold on Amazon. I was online checking with different studies for Burning Mouth Syndrome, and they recommended the R-ALA. Good Luck.
