Severe Constipation

Posted by klk464 @klk464, Feb 28, 2018

I have had severe constipation for a long time. I drink lots of water and have had almost every test possible done and tried many prescription medications. These medications work for a little bit then stop. I currently take 3 docusate in morning and at night I will take 2 senna/docusate. I still dont have a daily BM. So i get bloated crampy and back pain from this.

I was told I could go to the Mayo Clinic as they may have ideas for me because they are out of options for me here.

Anyone else suffer from this?

Wondering if my constipation is 'normal' or at least the way it gets...I typically feel it stuck in rectum (but i always make bms happen the next morning)...but it's uncomfortable until i make things happen. And I might do 'business' in the morning but then things eventually get stuck down there again, before end of day...I've never had so much poop moving through me and 'knocking at my back door' lol and not sure why, also i don't have rectecele or anything like that...

I feel your pain,my doctors have brushed me off for years. Im lucky if I have 1 bm a week. It’s not even normal and in no way satisfying.

Jaloma olive oil. I had constipation from adhesions and was taking miralax daily. I switched months ago to a teaspoon of this a day and have only had to use miralax a couple times since then. I only use miralax if I haven't gone for 3 days as that's when my doc says it gets dangerous for me due to the adhesions.

@peterose jaloma. I take it every morning. Sometimes I take a little more if it's been a day since I went. I also talked to my mayo nutritionist before taking it. She told me many people have been talking to her about this. There is also some research on olive oil and how it can help in my type of situation so I tried and it worked.

perhaps confirm with your doctor first?..........Does jojoba oil help constipation?
No — jojoba oil is not used as a laxative and is not recommended for internal consumption. The page describes it as a topical oil with benefits for skin elasticity, inflammation, eczema, and flakiness.

Why it’s not used internally
Jojoba oil is technically a liquid wax, not a digestible fat.
It is not metabolized by the human digestive system.

@shaleenv can using olive oil in cooking and in salads/veggies help ? For me, I think so…

I looked up Jaloma Olive Oil and it states it is non-edible and not to be ingested.

I would research this further with a medical doctor before taking this internally.
