Chronic bladder or lower abdomen pain
I have been dealing with lower abdomen pain for 3 years. I have had many tests but really no results. testing has showed my bladder is healthy but I have such a throbbing pain it does seem to get worse when my bladder is full. Not knowing is so hard and having pain you can't control is aweful. I have had many tests done but no results, anyone out there have dealt with this type of condition please let me know I'm looking for treatment ideas or medication ideas

I read a Mayo Clinic research paper on chronic bladder pain, but I can’t find it now. Please help!
I have chronic bladder/prostate pain. I’m told IC is a diagnosis but urologist don’t know what causes it and how to successfully treat it. Just really gave it a name!
Hello - reach out to the IC Association to help you find a provider in your area that can help you. It is a very challenging disease that I've been suffering with for 12 years. Also look up Jill Osborne at IC Network . she is a great resource for helping to guide you. You need to be on a restricted, acid free diet and there are supplements that can help for the pain. I presently take Urebel for bladder pain, Prelief as an acid reducer supplement before meals. You almost need a village of providers i.e.. urologist, pain specialist, PT, and regular low impact exercise. I hope this helps to guide you somewhat.
Please guide me to folks with bladder urge incontinence. I have to urinate once per hour. No
Pain or infection.
Hi @tdrohan Have you considered Botox injections? I had them and they did help. Here is a discussion about that:

There are more discussions that mention incontinence also. If you go to the little magnifying glass at the top of the page and put in "incontinence" it will show you any discussions that mention it.
I too have to urinate very frequently, particularly at night. I am generally up at least every hour and a half, often every hour, even when I try to not drink much in the evening. I was told there is a reason for that, it has to do with the fluid being drawn down during the day but then when you lie down it is more distributed throughout your body.
Before trying Botox I also tried a couple of the drugs they prescribe. I was on Vesicare a number of years ago, and more recently I was on Trospium. They both helped but not enough, I think Vesicare helped more. I have heard that the best medication for incontinence is Myrbetriq but that is often not paid for by insurance, or not paid for very well, and there is no generic yet.

Just catching up on this informative bladder and UTI thread and once more, as is often the case from discussions by members, found it helpful.
Contentandwell, it must be dreadfully trying to have so much interrupted sleep by such frequent urination need wake-ups.
I so agree with what others reported that we must research to learn and share all we can as patients to best manage our chronic conditions.
It has become glaringly apparent to me over this past year how easily some docs dismiss our questions and concerns. So much faster for them to prescribe another test or antibiotic than to do their own research for help to treat the root causes of the condition.
Best to all who are struggling to find relief and help with long term painful conditions.
Did Botox work for you?
I have had very bad pain in my bladder/prostate area for 5 1/2 years. Been to 4 urologist without any relief! I have heard Botox works. Has anyone had Botox treatments?
I have had the same treatment from 4 urologist! They seem to have a set diagnosis and treatment protocol and do not consider anything out of the box! It is very frustrating. My normal days are with pain in the 6-7 range on a scale of 1-10. On what I call my flare up days I have 10-10 pain and have to take Percocet! Certainly not a long term solution. If anyone has success with other treatment modalities please reply!
Have you heard of any treatments that work for chronic painful bladder syndrome?
