@natalie1177. Thank you writing on behalf of your mother. I agree with the others here. Any vaginal bleeding or spotting after one has not had a menstrual period for more than one year (the definition of menopause) is not normal. I hope you will encourage your mother, along with your insistence and help, to advocate that this needs more investigation. Many of us here, myself included, experienced vaginal bleeding in menopause. I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer a few months after I had the vaginal bleeding. I was treated (radical hysterectomy 6 years ago) and I'm here to say I'm glad I immediately made an appointment with my gynecologist. While it's possible that your mother's vaginal bleeding could be any number of other diagnoses why take the chance?

If it happens that the vaginal bleeding is cancer and it is an aggressive cancer then waiting until next Spring is not a good idea. She may be fearful about what happened to her sister. It is anxiety-provoking to get these medical evaluations but in my case I'm glad I did it. I hope your mother will do the same.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I really hope you are doing well now.

You may be right, the recent death of her sister really shook her up. I talked with her about the gynecologist and she told me she would go in January. I hope it's not too late by then. I wish you the best!!
