socks and neuropathy please read
I have neuropathy in my feet and in the tips of my fingers. It bothers me tremendously it hurts, stings burns, etc. The strange thing about it is, I feel like I have socks on and cannot take them off. It feels like sometimes they are too tight and hurting the end of my toes. I can push my skin down and it helps sometimes. I am not crazy, this is true. Does anyone else have this problem? It is an awful feeling all the time. Never heard anyone else say this. Don't know what king of neuropathy I have. Fay

yup been my take for the last 6 or so years, but I will say I have found a day to day shoe that tops all the rest, a bit trendy but the most comfortable shoes yet. the Hoda Bondi 8 is the only shoe that would come in a bonna fide 4 and 5 x width, the toe box is massive and would accommodate a shock but now I am down to finding a sock that will absorb sweat and odor. but I just cant seem to find socks that are not confining, light or thin enough to take care of that
pain stopped before fish oil but movement has improved after fish oil.
Interesting. Do you know what caused the pain to stop?
Hello Fay, i have tried neuropathy cream - which works now and then (arthritis cream from dollar store works too). but the best solution is copper anklet with magnets from amazon. my neuropathy is in the lower part of my toes and sometimes toes as well. pain can be horrific. since wearing the anklet the pain is much much less and i can forget it is there most of the time. i also use a copper ring for pain in a jammed finger.

I have started using bamboo socks. Lightweight and extremely soft! From Orthofeet company. They are for neuropathy.
@dj12 I currently have 2 issues with the right foot, Morton's Neuroma that is a painful condition with nerve tissue caused by wearing shoes with little or no room to accommodate my flat feet along with neuropathy so my options were limited. I currently own Hoka brand tennis shoes in a 4x width and wear women's nylon calf high stockings to eliminate at least some of the perspiration during the summer. if the socks have small ribs along the top of the foot like all of them do they tend to exacerbate the morton's issue but thanks anyway
Faybe,
I suffer from PN of the feet. I feel tight pressure, "snowy t.v." tingling sensations & feel something like wearing duct tape on the soles. My condition seems to be caused by Vein Disease/Varicose Veins and weight issues. I also have high arches, now fallen, causing bad feet. I've had nerve testing which found Small Fiber Neuropathy of the skin of my lower legs. SFN seems to be a symptom of VD/VV. Im in constant pain. Reprieves are rare. I live with this 24/7. Ive got inserts, use icing treatments (packs you chill) and lots of stretching. STRETCHING GENTLY IS IMPORTANT. Skin softeners work good to prevent the weather effects like cold, wind and sun. I do not have any Rheumatology or Central Nerve Issues. I'll be having VD/VV treatment consult Jan 2026 & will post on this blog as i go. I hope you contact me if you need more suggestions. Im no doctor but we seems to be pretty close in symptoms. I hope you get relief soon.

I forgot to add: i have Mortons Neuroma in right foot but this is not related to my other nerve affecting conditions.

This is what I bought and I love them. I have neuropathy and swollen ankles. They are so soft and no seams

Orthofeet has some socks created for neuropathy that are super soft and loose in the toes. They are probably more expensive than they should be, but they are comfortable! Actually, so are their shoes. I remember that feeling that my sock was bunched up under my feet.
