Ongoing Dizziness since June 2025

Posted by Evelyn @evelynrodriguez, Dec 11, 2025

Hello! My name is Evelyn and I am a 20 y/o F and I’ve been dealing with ongoing dizziness since June 2025. It happened randomly and out of nowhere. I’ve seen so many doctors - Neurologist/ENT/ER/PCP. All tests coming out normal/negative.

How it Started - I was getting ready for bed since I had work the next morning and I was starting at my mirror and that’s when I got hit with dizziness out of no where. I was swaying around and felt like I got off from a spinning wheel. I was feeling so off balanced. I also noticed that the lights in my room made it worse for me. I decided to lay down to get rid of the feeling and that’s when I started to feel nauseous from the feeling. The whole night I did not sleep at all. The next day, I felt so off. I was at work and I was feeling so weird and off putting. I was still feeling dizzy. I also noticed that I couldn’t eat right that day. That was the start of my “new” life.
After a couple days, I started to realize that this dizziness isn’t going away and felt feeling like an “odd and off” feeling. Like I wasn’t feeling like me. I decided to go to an office visit with a doctor and I got told that it was just vertigo and that it should go away on its own and that our bodies are very confusing when it comes to these types of problems. He prescribed me meclizine, which barely did anything. After a couple of weeks, the dizziness wasn’t going away so I decided to book another doctor. There he told me that my dizziness was due to anxiety. I also got blood work done and everything came out normal.
After a couple of days, My father took me to the ER because he saw me having a “panic attack” which I have never experienced before and with the dizziness, it made it worse. They preformed CT, CTA Head/Neck, ECG which all came out normal. I was getting tired of going to doctors and getting no answers.
I also started to experience anxiousness from the onset of dizziness. Very bad anxiety. To the point where I haven’t been out in public for a long time minus doctor appointments.
Fast forward into September 2025, I went to my PCP for dizziness and head shaking. He sent me to a Neurologist and there I got diagnosed with POTs. I was expecting a brain check since I started to shake my head from dizziness but I walked out with a new diagnosis.
From all of that, I haven’t felt normal since. It’s gone to the point where It’s been interfering with my daily life. I haven’t gone to work due to the onset. My education hasn’t been too great either. I’m very tired of feeling like this. I don’t want this to be my “new life”. Hopefully I’ll get some answers from this post. Thank you.

@evelynrodriguez i went through this a few years ago. In my case it was inner ear fluid imbalance … similar to vertigo. An MRI result was normal.

If it is anything like what I experienced - there is no definitive diagnosis for it - it will sort itself out in a few months. In the meantime, get up slowly from a lyi g or sitting position and be careful not to fall. Medication does not help.

Please visit my former post regarding vertigo. I had a debilitating situation in May. Found a good vestibular physical therapist who remedied my problem. I did not have the more typical vertigo, but what’s called horizontal vertigo which required a different maneuver to realign the crystals in the ear.
My prior post may include more details, but this the most important information.

I hope you find relief soon!

@evelynrodriguez A friend of mine was suddenly experiencing a form of vertigo that had to do with crystals in the ear that were dislodged or misaligned which was diagnosed by ENT doctor. The interesting thing about this diagnosis is the remedy being physical therapy which includes specific exercises to realign these crystals. Hoping this information is helpful.

I woke up one Sunday, in March 2006, with extreme dizziness and nausea. After days of MRIs, CT scans, etc, I was diagnosed with vestibular neuritis. The vestibular nerve, going to my right ear, has stopped functioning. Leading suspect is a virus. My balance is now controlled totally by the left vestibular nerve. I've been to Mayo, in 2010, and Dr Tim Hain @ Northwestern in Chicago several times. All docs agreed that it probably won't revert back to normal.
For 20 years I've had a constant feeling of imbalance, sorta like I'm on a boat that's slightly rocking. I've not fallen and can do all usual functions like golf, exercise. Just not as well as before.
I would love to wake up one morning to find it gone, but probably won't. I sincerely hope you don't have this issue.
I'll be 80 soon, so it's been with me since I turned 60. Best of luck to you.

My experience is same as crystal alignment discussed by others. It came on suddenly and included the feeling of the room was spinning, guarantee to fall down. ENT doctor did simple hands on rotating my head and upper body, he mentioned the crystal problem and referred to a physical therapist. i was on my own for a couple days with no dizziness episodes. Therapist did similar check and concluded i should give it a try and come back in three days for a follow up check, i asked was the exercise she just did therapy, i assumed it was to diagnose not treat. Appears both what the ENT and she did was therapy, and it worked, now more dizziness for over a month.
