@darlenem2 Thank you for the update, Darlene! I’ve heard from others too that Vowst has really changed their lives!
My gastro guy doesn’t recommend actually taking probiotics in supplement form but stresses the importance of adding Greek yougart (preferably non-fat, plain) daily, along with eating mild Kimchi or fermented saurkraut! Those 3 things have improved my gut-biome tremendously. I have to avoid kefir though! That causes issues for me.
I know how we walk around on ‘pins and needles’ with a bit of PTSD worrying about a potential ‘next time’. But I have to say, very slowly adding pre and pro-biotics like oatmeal, ground flax, soaked chia seeds, fermented foods like kimchi, kraut, etc., as part of my daily food intake has my guts and me feeling more normal.
Wishing you continued success!! That’s the best gift, isn’t it?
Are you still drinking green tea daily?
@loribmt I have not had any Macha tea lately, I need to get back to it. I have been hesitant to even add yogurt back into my diet. I do eat oatmeal, not a fan of the kraut. Hate the taste and the smell. lol I do use ground flax sometime. My fear is that since I have no idea what the person who supplied the Vowst had issues with, (even though it is sterilized) there probably is some of their own DNA along with their microbiome in the Vowst. Once you take it, your bowel habits do change. When I talked with the person from Vowst, they did say some people experience constipation and others report diarrhea. Not that it is a recurrence of C Diff, just a different experience.
Happy to hear that you stay healthy and free of it. You are so right on the PTSD side of the nasty stuff. Hopefully, in the very near future there will be some type of either vaccine or a cure for C Diff.
I do read posts from Contagion Live and have listened to the panels discuss the problems and possible, not necessary cures but very good info. This is a site that deals with all types of diseases, not just C Diff, but they do have lots of very good info regarding C Diff. 🙂
