Does anyone have any questions about papillary thyroid cancer?
I am a 25 year survivor of papillary thyroid cancer and have been volunteering for many years answering many questions from people who have papillary thyroid cancer and have questions about it. I would be happy to answer any questions from people who have concerns about thyroid cancer.

1 Reaction@lindaadele you are certainly ready to start talking about thyroid cancer, but this discussion groups is about different autoimmune diseases not cancer. I’m sure your talk is very informative and interesting, but you’ve chosen the wrong discussion group. Everyone in this group wants/needs info on their autoimmune diseases not cancer. I’ve posted the link to the right discussion. Good luck!

I have been mentoring people with thyroid cancer for over 20 years and I’ll be happy to answer any questions that are general about the variance of papillary thyroid cancer.
Does anyone have any general questions about papillary thyroid cancer variants. Many years ago I had diffuse sclerosed variant which is quite rare and can be aggressive.
Hello yes, I just got diagnosed. I have my appointment on Monday with the Endocrinologist. I have multiple nodules, but they on biopsied one on my left lobe. There is one on my right that also appears cancerous, however it was not biopsied since it was small. I'm guessing that the next step is normally surgery to remove my entire thyroid. What has your experience been?

1 ReactionIt’s important to go to an endocrinologist that is familiar with patients with thyroid cancer. your best bet is to take one step at a time and see what the endocrinologist has to say. Depending on the situation and everybody has different cancer situation the endocrinologist may just say we’re gonna wait and see it just depends so it’s very hard to answer that question the important thing is to see what the endocrinologist has to say and take it from there. I used to do the same thing as you’re doing I used to think of the absolute worst scenario and I drove myself completely crazy. See what the endocrinologist has to say and then you can decide what you want to do. With thyroid cancer everybody’s different every situation is different so it’s hard to say it’s good for one it’s gonna be good for the other there a lot of things that going to decision that the endocrinologist will make. My very very best wishes to you!!! try to go with the flow which is very hard for me to do. Good luck to you.
Hello. I had total thyroidectomy and RAI 10 years ago for a 2.5 cm papillary cancer nodule with nothing in the lymph nodes. My Tg has consistanly been < .1 and clear ultrasounds, however, this year it jumped to .1 Should I be concerned?

1 ReactionIf the blood test concerns you can’t hurt to call your doctor up I really think it’s absolutely no problem but can’t hurt to call the doctor just to double check and make sure. Sometimes different labs that the bloodwork goes to they move it around they changed it a little bit but basically to me it looks like no problem but double check can’t hurt you feel
I can remember doing exactly the same thing that you’re doing I was getting nuts with these numbers with different labs it changed around a little bit and everything was fine but I went crazy cause I get worried about everything good luck to you call up the doctor just to double check. You will feel better.

1 Reaction@slmussel, often a single abnormal of thyroglobulin (Tg) is not cause for alarm. Your doctor may order another test to confirm the result or discover an error. Your results will be tracked over time to see the trend rather than one result.
Have you had a chance to review the test results with your doctor? What did you find out?
