I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in March 2025. I've undergone 5 sessions of radiation and 5 cycles of chemo treatment. I'm now down to one injection treatment per month with regular doses of lenalidomide. In September I had lazer eye surgery on both eyes to remove cataracts. No ill effects or complications. Now enjoy 20/20 vision. Need to wear cheater glasses for reading and up-close work. Distance viewing and driving at night are like 30 years ago. Good luck.

Hi @gerald22, Thank you for sharing your positive account with successful cataract surgery after having treatments for multiple myeloma. I know many members who are undergoing medical treatments or have compromised immune systems have concerns about going forward with the surgery.
Your story is very encouraging and it also sounds like your MM is under control as well. A good finish to the year!

By the way, welcome to Connect. Since you’re new to the site, there are over 70+ health related support groups and as you’ve seen a large Blood Cancers & Disorders group. More MM discussions can be found by typing in MM or Multiple Myeloma in the upper search bar.

Regarding your cataract surgery, was there input from your hematologist before going ahead with the correction?
