I need information about multivitamin without iodine.
I have one kidney. I’ve been told it is not functioning at the level it should. Ordered multivitamin, when I read contents it includes iodidine. Has anyone knowledge of one without iodine. Thank you.

@maylbee I use a multi vitamin supplement called Rena-Vite, manufactured for Cypress. There is no iodine in it. It is presented in bottles of 100 tablets. I get 3 at a time from Amazon, and have been using them for 2 years, on the advice of my nephrologist.
Vitamin C, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vit B6, Fosgate, Vit B12, Biotin, Pantothenic Acid, and a bit of Calcium
Hope this is something you can use!

I just looked at my bottle of Rena-Vite tablets. There is no yellow dye listed on the label. Attached is a screen shot of the label. I am wondering what you might have been looking at?

Can you explain what the problem with iodine is?
CKD
@pegpal Using a multivitamin with iodine is not necessarily a problem, but for those of us with chronic kidney disease [CKD], we need to watch how much iodine we ingest. For those of us with an eGFR less than 30, contrast dyes are a big risk, as those same dyes need to clear through the kidneys, and can be a problem. We often need to make sure our treating medical professionals understand this, and we really it to them.
The original poster was explaining they have only one kidney. Therefore, they need to protect that kidney even more, and be more cautious about what they ingest. Does this answer your question?

1 ReactionYes, mostly, thank you. I have both kidneys but an over-active bladder. My GFR is so low that they can't find a value for it. That's what caught my eye in her note.
