What Prostate Zones were Your Lesions In?

Posted by indyguy @indyguy, Nov 20, 2025

Just curious what zones your lesions were in.
I have one lesion in the transition zone 1.2cm in size.
I have a huge prostate 172cc and going for biopsy in December.

Is there a better zone to have lesion in ?
Thanks

@indyguy

Did the MRI on Monday.
Got the results, but they are in Spanish (I live in Spain).
Going to see the urologist this Friday to get the MRI results deciphered

@harry100, how are you doing? What did you find out from the appointment with the urologist?

Hello Colleen,
Thank You for asking.🤗
Urologist said I had a 91% of not being cancerous. But there still is that 9%.
So having a biopsy on the 16th.... Not feeling good about the whole thing...

I had 1.2 cm lesion in transition zone, normal 38 size prostate via mri. Cancer more rare there so i was hoping, but it abutted capsule and psa and decipher score not good. Was cancer on biopsy 3+4, intermediate unfavorable so i had it treated

@cianci forgot to mention, pirads score of lesion also an indicator, you get from mri, mine was 5 , the worst, so i lost confidence that it wasn't pc before biopsy, but anything's possible

I have read leasions in the transistion zone tend to be less aggressive and less chance of recurring. The leasion is usually larger & PSA higher. The PZ is were most cancers are found.

@cianci
How are you doing now ? When was your surgery ?

I opted for proton radiation earlier this year, psa fell after 3 months, still needs to go down further. Side effects manageable but not totally insignificant. In other words, i am worse off than before symptomwise, but i hope better off mortalitywise.
