Hi, At Age 84, I'm also on my 3rd pacemaker/ICD. From suffering bacterial endocarditis from oral surgery in 1994, my mitral valve was infected. By 2010 the valve needed replacement. In open heart surgery, surgeon sewed in a porcine valve. which required much stitching, he didn't close off the appendage, which a week later I had a blood clot. causing a minor stroke. Was put on warfarin and a pacemaker/ICD, installed also in 2010. Now my EF is in the mid 30s . I'm now on Entresto,Digoxin, Metoprolol, and Eliquis for heart stuff. My ER doc had me do 2 cardioversions and one ablation, (think that was a CRT), non worked , and is now suggesting an AV node ablation, which would put me totally on batteries I'm told. I'm a bit leery, and wondering about others who have done that. Thank you for the info I've gotten from you folks, I am fairly active, and usually feel ok , at this age.
@dnanewnorth89 Thanks for your response and good luck with upcoming procedures!
