Has anyone had experience in stopping Duloxetene. How did you stop and what withdrawal side effects did you experience?

I’m just starting the process myself.

Did you not find Duloxetine helpful? I've been prescribed it, but I'm nervous to try it as I'm very sensitive to medication.

Hi. I have been on it for about 6 months and I found it very helpful for my anxiety. I have been dealing with some other medical issues and trying to determine if this weird mouth and tongue sensation is from Duloxetene or residual side effects from antibiotics or medicine I took for oral thrush caused by the antibiotics. Doctors are calling it Burning Mouth Syndrome because anything else it might be has been ruled out. I may resume taking Duloxetene if my mouth issue is still there when I no longer am on it because I found it very effective for anxiety.

I've been taking it for several years, along with another prescription for my clinical depression.

Anders Sorensen is a psychologist who wrote a book about the challenges of withdrawing from psychiatric meds correctly
Called Crossung Zero
I haven’t read it but heard an interview about importance of slow tapering

I withdrew from Duloxetine on 10 JANUARY 2026....after having been on it for about a year. The withdrawal symptoms are hell......Especially the first three to four weeks because now your body has to get use to the absence of the serotonin that the drug increased to relieve anxiety and perhaps depression. I feel sick everyday....with stomach pain, increase heart rate, nervousness, Anexity and BP. I am dizzy quit and light headed quit often. Nothing to be hopeful for even though I know that that is not true. The absence of the serotonin is the biggest issue as your brain uses it to keep you calm and to not interept pain so serious as without it. The gut is also highly dependent on it. I came off because the drug was raises my liver enzymes.

I’m on 30- went on a couple years ago due to horrible anxiety with breast cancer and taking hormone blocker drug ( I’m cancer free now) and it really helped. I would like to get off. I never thought about side effects when going off it. Scary!!
Did anyone try a lesser dosage first to help ween off? I’m messaging my doctor this morning!
