Colostomy reversal: What can I expect? Recovery time?

In a few month, I’ll be having a colostomy reversal. By the time the surgery rolls around, I will have had the Ostomy for 6 months. What can I expect ? Will the recovery be another 12 weeks?

Agree with barbwith3cats about need to find out why, if surgeon says "No" to re-connection. However, surgeon's vary and so do their techniques and experience. Get a 2nd opinion if turned down by first surgeon--and try to find a surgeon who specializes in re-connections, if possible.
