What a horrible, bitter experience. You could probably mount a lawsuit (probably the 'shit show' he referred to) but thanks for exposing him here! I'm new to Osteoporosis and tend to be a very dogged, avid researcher - I'm plowing through mountains of info and solid studies on every question that arises as I go. I saw pretty quickly that there are plenty of sketchy outfits out there - even if most of their their basic advice is OK (often including standard bone health advice easily discovered elsewhere), their claims are rigged and sometimes absurd. I came across "Doctor Doug" early on and was momentarily interested because his creds looked so solid and he sounded reasonable. I wanted to know more about the meds and watched those talks. A lot of what he says seems to be backed up by other solid research that I've seen. He's good at making it understandable. Then I saw his prices, and some other off-putting stuff (insanely rigorous and potentially dangerous exercise program, for one) smelled a rat and fled.

It's hard '- especially for those with some good reason to be inclined to decline meds - not to wander into that whole world of very seductive, credible pickpockets. Ugh.

@beccac thanks for that info. I do enjoy his podcasts or you tube videos. They point me in the right direction for further research. I often wondered who in their right mind would pay those outrageous amounts of money and wondered what I was missing. Thanks to yours and other comments here about Dr Doug, I guess the answer to that is a lot of headaches. Thanks.

@beccac his videos, or a book (if he wrote one) might be useful, and definitely cheaper than signing on with him ! A few things alerted me to stand back and just pick what makes sense to me. True of several bone ‘experts’…
