Make sure to consult your retina doctor about AREDS2 . Don't just stop taking them because of the side effects you read about here.
Most of us are taking it without high zinc which seems to be the culprit with our side effects. Zinc is in the formula for a reason -- ask them if you can benefit without it and ask your retina doctor for help in choosing the right formula. You may not have any gastro problems (I don't) or have my CFH gene Double Y Y 407h which some research says causes my eyes to go to advanced AMD quicker with AREDS2 .
You may be in the 25 percent that is actually helped by it! So don't give up on it without asking your retina doctor.

@mikaylar Areds were never intended to cure AMD but rather to help slow it down, at least that's what my doctor told me. I did read they might also prevent it from happening in the second eye. Either way, I take them, as I don't see any harm, and if there's even a small chance they help, I want to take that chance. (Low Zinc version).
