@volleyballfan That would depend upon your age, other preexisting conditions and meds you take, etc. It’s a nasty steroid so be very careful. When my doctor wanted to put me on it, he didn’t go over the medication with me at all. My pharmacist called me later to advise me about it.
@volleyballfan Get the Budesonide and thank the stars it exists. I had no side effects except confidence within a week that I could be more than 10 feet from my bathroom after 7 months of hell.
I had success after Budesonide but sadly relapsed a few months later and had to do another round - again successful but again relapsed. I am now on 3mg a day as maintenance. And I still thank the stars.

@volleyballfan I too have both Microscopic Colitis and EPI. My doctor couldn’t believe that I could be unlucky enough to have both. I am on Creon and take 3 mg Budesonide 3 times a week. This seems to keep the diarrhea at bay. This is my routine after 18 months of finding the correct maintenance dose of Budesonide. Started out at 9 mg a day.
